What to Prepare

Please prepare one of the following audition sides attached here: 5WWTSD Audition Sides

You may choose to read as any of the characters included in the side, you do not need a partner to read with, there will be a reader present at the audition. Audition sides do not need to be memorized. You may be asked to perform the side again, or to cold read a different side during your audition. Headshots and resumes are appreciated but not required.

Auditioning in person is encouraged, however, virtual submissions are welcome in the form of a link to an unlisted youtube video of you performing one of the sides, or a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue. These submissions should be emailed to kellen@wallawallasummertheater.org before 4pm on Friday, March 14th.

Show Synopsis

Five Women Wearing the Same Dress is a comedy centering five bridesmaids who have found refuge in the room of Meredith, the sister of the bride. The women come to realize that despite their differences, they have more in common with each other than any of them do with the bride.

Character Breakdown

All ages, ethnicities, identities, and bodies are encouraged to audition regardless of character description. If you can portray the character well, we want to hear from you!

Meredith

-Cast: Paige Yanny

-Description: Female, age 20-25. The bride's rebellious, pot-smoking younger sister who is very sarcastic and very annoyed with the whole fiasco downstairs. Sporting an outwardly tough attitude, she has a lot of insecurity to hide. Bridesmaid.

Trisha

Description: Female, age 25-35. One of the bride's former friends with a supposed bad reputation; a jaded beauty. Bridesmaid.

Georgeanne

Description: Female, age 25-35. The bride's "ugly sidekick" in high school and college. Has accepted the invitation to be a bridesmaid even though her relationship with Tracy is strained because Tracy's boyfriend had once got her pregnant. Bridesmaid.

Frances

Description: Female, age 16-23. The very naive and religious cousin of the bride. Bridesmaid.

Mindy

Description: Female, age 35-50. The groom's clumsy and outspoken lesbian sister. Bridesmaid.

Tripp Davenport

Description: Male, age 25-35. An usher who falls for Trisha. The only male seen in the show.

Rehearsal Schedule

You will not be called to every single rehearsal for the entire duration every day, and we will try our best to accommodate any scheduling conflicts you may have, there will be space to list any conflicts on your audition form. Starting April 21st, you will be needed at every rehearsal.
