Costuming for Ages 12+ (April-June)

This 8 week course is appropriate for students 12 and up interested in theater costuming. Students will start 8 week section 1  (Jan-March) with basic sewing skills, including a personal project to take home. In 8 week section 2 (April-June) students will learn more about the design process helping build a set of costumes for summer theaters next production Beauty and the Beast. Materials for the personal project are included in the class, as well as one ticket to see your creation in action. students are encouraged to bring their own sewing machine and scissors as extras are limited. 

Participants in the class will be able to learn not only basic sewing skills but also about the research and design process, construction techniques, distressing  and fitting.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Eliza Van De Rostyne is a costume designer for Walla Walla Summer Theater, The Dance Center of Walla Walla, and The Little Theater of Walla Walla locally and builds costumes on a regular basis for productions in Dallas Texas.
